It's time to go back to class. I'm Jeff Keane; I'll be right with you to explain who should go to school and why.
The learning never stops and I'm going to tell cattlemen about a short course that will be very informative. The class title is Beef 300 and will be in session January 7-10, 2009. The tuition fee is $150 open to the first 32 first pay, first served participants. Sponsored by Washington State University, University of Idaho, Washington Cattlemen's Association, Washington Cattle Feeders Association, and Washington State Beef Commission the course offers a hands on study for progressive industry people. The four day classes include live animal and ultrasound evaluation, food safety, carcass and retail fabrication, grid pricing and auction, feeding for quality, processing and product development plus quality and welfare of cull cows to name a portion of the studies. I believe students will be busy, but some work will be entertaining like the quiz bowl team competition. Registration closes December 15, 2008. To receive a sign up form contact WSU Grant/Adams extension in Ephrata, Washington by telephoning 509-754-2011 or email Sarah Smith at smithsm@wsu.edu. Remember, you can always learn something. I'm Jeff Keane.
