09/05/08 Montana cattle crawl

I'm a proud, native Washingtonian, but I have to admit I really enjoy visiting Montana. I'm Jeff Keane; I'll be back in one minute with a new reason I like that state. I always have a good time when I visit Montana. The state has plenty of cattle to see and plenty of cattle people to talk with. The Montana Stockgrowers Association just announced another reason I would like to be in Billings, Montana September 7th. That organization will be holding its second annual Cattle Crawl. Now, this is not a bunch of trained cows walking on their knees or a herd of out-of-shape cattlemen pretending to go on a jog--- it's a progressive beef dinner evening tour. These lucky diners will be bussed to four up-scale Billings restaurants where they will be served four different beef dishes from appetizers to main courses. The group then gets to return to the first stop for a fantastic apple dessert. I know if Washington apples are used, the treat will indeed be fantastic. I think this sounds like a truly beautiful evening. If an event such as this has been held in Washington, I apologize for not knowing about it and attending, but shame on you for not inviting me. I believe someone with better organizational skills than I posses should look into this idea. Preferably, planning the event close to where I live. I might even have to quit eating about an hour before the first stop to enjoy that many beef entrees, but I bet I could handle the night of meals and not have to crawl home. I'm Jeff Keane.
