07/29/08 Today's Organics

People who prefer organic foods nowadays are no longer considered to be on the fringe of mainstream society, they have become mainstream. And at the risk of having a lot of "free spirits" who might be listening, and would regard such a statement with sheer horror, I reiterate, organics have gone mainstream. More and more people have discovered the benefits of eating and using organic products. With more people demanding organic foods, and more farmland being utilized for organic growing the predictable future is that the price of organic foods will drop making organic even more accessible and attractive to a larger portion of the population. In fact, organic farming isn't just for rural areas anymore. City or urban farming is taking hold across America and offers people a way to fight the processed food, obesity, oil dependence and global warming wars all on their own personal turf. And while some organic products have shown a selling slow down, organic products overall are very much a welcome part of our lives now and will remain so in the future.
