07/30/08 Dairy processing workshop

The University of Idaho and Tech-Help have put together a series of workshops for the Idaho dairy industry. The first is a one day course of food safety prerequisites and principles used in dairy processing. That workshop is October 23 at Twin Falls. KRONENBURG "On October 24 we will have a pasteurizer workshop in Gooding and it will be targeted towards individuals in the dairy processing industry that operate pasteurizers." Tech-Help's Jeff Kronenburg says a December 10th workshop in Twin Falls will deal with whey processing. KRONENBURG "Our workshop will focus on how whey is processed and different technologies targeted at different operators who run those types of processing setups." Like the whey processing session, there will be an industrial cheesemaking workshop February 3rd and 4th in Twin Falls that feature experts from the University of Wisconsin who will help teach the courses. The Idaho Milk Processors Association supported the workshops. Registration for any of the workshops opens on Friday and you can call 364-6188 to signup. Today's Idaho Ag News Bill Scott
