Wine Events. I'm Greg Martin with today's Fruit Grower Report.
The big 4th of July weekend is past and there are still a lot of great things going on in around the area. Little weekend trips can reveal a different side of our state and not cost an arm and a leg. Wine events are always extra special and there are a number of them going on you might like to check out this weekend.
On Saturday, Cave B Estate Winery will host their Red Wine Release BBQ Lunch & Wine Club Dinner! You will not believe the incredible wines and the equally stunning view at Cave B's Columbia gorge side location. Tickets include a blind wine challenge, gourmet buffet style lunch paired with five Cave B wines, and a BBQ demonstration by Tendrils Executive Chef Fernando Divina.
If you like a little adventure with your wine you might try the "Horse Heaven Hills" Trail Drive Event also on Saturday. It's the 3rd anniversary for this event which features a beautiful drive through the Horse Heaven Hills AVA, tasting wonderful wines at our local tasting rooms and wineries. Enjoy a BBQ dinner next to the mighty Columbia River. Participating stops: Columbia Crest, Canoe Ridge Estate, Alexandria Nicole, Zefina, Canyon's Edge, Chateau Champoux, & McKinley Springs. Ice chests are suggested for any wine purchases and a driving map & directions will be provided. www.horseheavenhillswinegrowers.org
And on Sunday, Prosser's Airfield Estates is hosting their French Winemaker's Dinner Winemaker Marcus Miller will guide you through the wine tasting. Special guest Master Sommelier Angelo Tavernaro will share his knowledge about French food and wine.
Be sure and call ahead for times and ticket information. There is so much to see and do in your own backyard.
