06/26/08 PETA

Once again, PETA, the animal rights radicals are enjoying the limelight. With their recent uproar over the "pigeon popping" at Wimbledon and their new ads spouting that going vegan can stop world hunger, (and just how not eating meat is going to stop starvation, I'm not quite sure), PETA is once again in their element, that element of over the top publicity seeking with a lot of guilt and a little gore. Excuse me PETA, but wasn't your stand on human beings last week that of, "if we must sacrifice human lives in the cause for animal's rights and well being, so be it." Now suddenly you're a kinder, gentler PETA? If it wasn't so obviously underhanded, deceptive and downright scary, it would be laughable. And the sad thing is there will be many people who will be taken in by this new approach; a large majority being the Hollywood celebrity set who seem to be always ready to jump on the bandwagon of the latest cause, whether that cause is based on fact or fiction.
