If you own a home, you probably have a yard, and if you have a yard, you probably have grass, and if you have grass you definitely have to mow it once in a while. Since I am the one in our household who mows our quarter of an acre I find myself on a weekly basis thinking that there has to be a better, (meaning, quieter, less smelly, less expensive!) way of mowing the lawn other than with the gas powered monster I tread behind! When my son was at home he tried to convince me we needed either an old fashioned reel mower or a goat. I opted out on both counts since one seemed like to much work and the other would still be on the smelly side. But now I find myself seriously considering purchasing a cylinder or reel mower. It would definitely more environmentally friendly and contribute to my overall health due to the extra effort needed to actually "push" the mower through the grass as opposed to gliding behind the self propelled gas mower. In fact I think I've just talked myself into a trip to my local hardware store, at least until I decide to purchase that goat!
