Riding for Clore. I'm Greg Martin with today's Fruit Grower Report.
This weekend would be a great opportunity to get out and visit Eastern Washington's wine country and if you own a motorcycle and like to ride make plans for the Moteur de Vine, Motorcycle Ride Benefit.
PONTIN: It's a fund-raiser for the Walter Clore Culinary and Viticulture Center in Prosser. Kind of helping them out, getting them some funding and get it off the ground down there. Everybody is invited of course it's a little bit of everybody. It's not just Harley's it's crotch rockets the whole works. This year it's May 17 which is a Saturday in May which hopefully this year it's a little cooler because last years date was really hot.
That's Scott Pontin, co-event coordinator and owner of Pontin Del Roza Winery in Prosser. The event will also feature lunch and dinner plus entertainment with proceeds helping support the Clore Center.
PONTIN: It's going to be a destination area down in Prosser. It'll have actual displays of the wine industry and the food industry in the valley and Washington State so it will encompass everybody in the whole state really.
The wine industry is growing by leaps and bounds. Even Pontin is expanding his operation.
PONTIN: I'm in the process of bottling right now but I'm also in the process of adding on another 3000 sq. foot to my tasting room and redoing my tasting room
This year Pontin Del Roza will be releasing a Dochetto Rose that sounds very tasty. For more information on the benefit ride, contact the Walter Clore Center in Prosser.
