03/14/08 Taste Seattle

Taste Seattle. I'm Greg Martin with today's Fruit Grower Report. If you are like me, you enjoy a good glass of wine. I particularly like to buy a different variety every week to sample the best of the Northwest. I have some definite favorites. Taste Seattle is an annual event that more and more people are discovering according to Robin Pollard, Executive Director of the Washington Wine Commission. POLLARD: It has really turned in to be the must attend event. We have people coming in from around the country, we are anticipating around 3500 folks coming for the afternoon to meet first hand the many winemakers from around the state. Taste is a meeting of great wines and wonderful food. POLLARD: We have a number of other partners who will be demonstrating food items and we have about 60 to 65 restaurants who will also be handing out food samples from their various establishments all of which pair very well with our Washington wines. The event promises an entire weekend of good tastes. POLLARD: And it truly is a weekend event beginning on Saturday we do a full day of seminars that are designed to be very informative and fun to educate people. We are bringing in some top names from around the country to put on seminars and then on Sunday of course is our Grand Tasting. That's today's Fruit Grower Report. I'm Greg Martin on the Northwest Ag Information Network.
