02/06/08 YFR leadership, Phillps

The Idaho Farm Bureau has its Young Farmer and Rancher leadership team for 2008. A few weeks ago we introduced you to some of them who were also honored as outstanding YFR members. People like horse trainers Cody and Brittney Chandler of Weiser, Malad cow calf operators Austin and Mayse Tubbs and Gooding County dairy owners John and Caroline Anderson. Today and tomorrow, you'll meet the other two district leaders. We start with Dave and Cindy Phillps of Custer County who operate a 250 head cow calf operation near Malad. PHILLPS "Angus, short horn, Hereford, cross kettle. We're under a lot of pressure; everybody wants us out, environmentalists. We have a rough time, got a lot of issues right now. It seems every night you go though a lot of issues. It just the ranching experience. I grew up on a ranch great and I want my kinds to have the same opportunity.
