01/18/08 Young Farmers and Ranchers, Brammer

Drew Brammer is working for a neighboring farm but this recent University of Idaho graduate is looking forward to the day he takes over his family farming operation near Kendrick. BRAMMER "My name is Drew Brammer. I was born and raised on a farm here in Kendrick just north of here across the canyon. I've been working for Dale and Brain for the last two years. I started working for them part time while I was in high school hauling hay. When I was up at the U of I, I majored in agricultural systems management with an agribusiness degree. They teach you a lot about farming. The first year Farm Bureau was started I really didn't' know that much about it on campus and so I went to a few meetings, but not all the time, then after that I was very active in Farm Bureau and became president my senior year. Through Farm Bureau I learned a lot about the policy making and things you really don't think that much about in farming. Some guys might check the news or listen to the radio but you really don't think that much about policies and other things that are available."
