01/15/08 Crop insurance deadlines

A deadline is coming up at the end of this month for both the Adjusted Gross Revenue Pilot insurance available in selected Northwest counties and Adjusted Gross Revenue-Lite which is available in all Pacific Northwest counties. . Jo Lynne Seufer of the USDA's regional Risk Management Agency office says these closing dates can be confusing. SEUFER "January 31 is the final date for producers to obtain or change current Adjusted Gross Revenue Pilot insurance for Oregon, Idaho and Washington. It is also, January 31, the final date to submit required documents to continue or change 2008 Adjusted Gross Revenue-Lite for existing policy holders." Seufer says there is another deadline for the AGR-Lite on March 17th. SEUFER "And that is the final date for producers to obtain 2008 Adjusted Gross Revenue-Lite insurance. These are new applications and enrollment policies throughout Alaska, Oregon, Idaho and Washington." March 17th will also be the sales closing date for all other spring seed crop insurance coverage excluding wheat in counties with fall and spring planted types. Voice of Idaho Agriculture Bill Scott
