Welcome to Vine to Wine this is your host Linda Moran and as many of you know, my new favorite wine is very often the wine that is in my glass at the time. I simply don't waste the time and calories on wine that I don't enjoy. Recently I received an email from a listener asking if I have a "house wine" and if so what is it?
When someone asks me what my personal "house wine" is I have to believe they are referring to a wine that I might drink everyday without giving it much thought. That is a nice thought, but it just doesn't happen that way at my house. I always give some thought to what wine I am opening up. Perhaps they are asking about wine that I buy by the case so that I always have plenty of it. That would come closer to my situation and definitely I do buy wine that way. For the last few months, I guess my favorite house wine has been Thurston Wolf PGV white it is a blend of Pinot Gris and Viognier and it is delicious, a real crowd pleaser. There hasn't been a constant red wine. Maybe I am still searching for my "house red". But the deal with Thurston Wolf is that it just seems to go with everything and I am not showing any signs of getting tired of it. I have told you about it before when it first became my new favorite wine and in many ways it still is. So I hope that satisfies your curiosity about me and my "house wines".
