The 2007 President's Cup winner has a long history with Farm Bureau which Don Dixon joined after he returned to the farm from military service. Recently appointed as Idaho Farm Service Agency Executive Director Don Dixon says Farm Bureau has always been a valuable resource to him.
DIXON "I was always glad for the Idaho Farm Bureau Federation and the American Farm Bureau Federation because those type of organizations actually did all the work for me when I was a congressional staffer as far as policy development. The Idaho farm Bureau Federation spent hours debating issues and then I as a professional staff person could go to that policy book which we did regularly and find out what the Farm Bureau's position was and it represented a huge amount of the constituent for the member."
Georgia and Don Dixon have been advocates for agriculture.
DIXON "I live it. I breath it. There's a comfort zone on being on a farm and I absolutely do my best thinking when I'm driving a tractor out in the fields somewhere."
The Dixons, winners of the 2007 President's Cup.
