12/21/07 Christmas 2007

Can you even imagine it's Christmas time already? Now some of us may not be too excited with the fact. I'm Jeff Keane; I'll be right back to talk about that. If Christmas has kind of crept up on you and you don't really feel that special excitement of the season, I can relate. Maybe what we need to do is think back a few years or, ok, maybe quite a few years and reflect on the fun of seasons past. If your childhood memories were as pleasant as mine, it doesn't take long to be feeling a little more jolly. In the Northwest, Christmas time usually means snow time and when you're a kid snow means nothing but fun. Maybe you remember that as soon as your school Christmas concert was over, it was only a couple more days until vacation oh baby! That meant visits with cousins, friends and playtime. One of my favorite memories was the special food dishes and treats still is. And then there were gifts and presents to look forward to. I know some of you are saying that's not what Christmas is about, but presents were given on that first Christmas to one humble yet extraordinary gift. I think giving a present that someone really wants or can really use is exciting. Not all gifts have to be presents. There is the gift of hearing from a friend or relative this time of year, or better yet visiting with them in person. Those visits are always a little more special because it's Christmas time. So think back to your traditions and think ahead to the enjoyment you can create I'll bet you'll feel some of that Christmas spirit. I'm Jeff Keane. Merry Christmas!
