12/21/07 Shopping for the Wine Lover

Welcome to Vine to Wine this is your host Linda Moran and today I am going to make some recommendations for those of you who are going out first thing tomorrow to do your Holiday gift shopping. Many of you have a wine lover on your list and I have some ideas. Yes, I am a wine lover and I have a few recommendations for the wine lover on your shopping list. First of all, a few good books to consider - any wine book written by the British Master of Wine Jancis Robinson or the latest edition of Kevin Zraly's Complete Wine Course and of course the humorous and endearing tale of one man's journey into the world of wine Bacchus and Me by James McInerney. If cooking and wine are both serious hobbies search out a copy of any or all of these books. The Simple Art of Marrying Food & Wine by Malcom Gluck and Mark Hix . The Wine Lover Cooks with Wine by Sid Goldstein or Cooking with Wine by Anne Willan. Next, I am in love with the orbital decanter it was designed by a ship's captain and it spins but does not spill. The most impressive way to give this gift is with a bottle of red wine. Pour the recipient a glass of the wine straight from the bottle, no swirling or moving the glass be allowed. Then decant and spin the wine in the orbital decanter and pour a second glass, compare the two and your gift will be one of the wine lover's new favorite toys! Visit our website at vine to wine dot net and review the text of this program to see my recommendations and thanks for joining me on today's Vine to Wine.
