12/7/07 Favorites for the Holiday

Welcome to Vine to Wine this is your host Linda Moran. The holidays are in full swing and I have already had a couple of small soirees. Today I want to tell you about some of my favorite wines at reasonable prices for the holidays. Many of us are looking for delicious and reasonably priced wines for the Holidays. I for one love the excuse to drink bubbly and I am a big fan of reasonably priced bubbles like Zardetto Prosecco, Segura Viudas NV Brut and Domaine Ste. Michelle Brut Rose. For still wines you have to try Thurston Wolfe from Prosser Washington they make both red and white wines that are some of the best values in the market these days. From Europe I enjoy good Alsace Riesling from Trimbach or Selbach Rieslings from Germany. I am so excited about a Spanish wine made by Lorinon that's L-o-r-i-n-o-n. It is a Rioja that is to die for and under twenty dollars. Remember when it comes to partys the formula I use to determine how much wine to buy or open is based upon knowing that a bottle contains about 5 glasses of wine. Multiply the number of hours you estimate the party to last by about 1 to 1 and a half glasses per person per hour and you will have a very good idea how much wine you need. So there you are a few hints about enjoying some great new wines and not breaking the bank. Remember to send your wine questions to Linda at vine to wine dot net and thank you for joining me on today's Vine to Wine.
