Over ten thousand copies have been sold in 42 states and eight countries. I'm talking about the Cow-Calf Management Guide. New fact sheets on fluid and electrolyte therapy in calves, concentrated-animal operations for cow-calf enterprises, economic comparisons of artificial insemination and natural service, and ranch-road maintenance have been added to this year's edition says the University of Idaho's Benton Glaze.
GLAZE "It's put together each year by a number of specialist and county agents from across the West so it has a lot of application to beef cattle operations in Idaho. The group comes together and reviews the fact sheets and finds those that need to be revised and then we also add new ones and take the ones out that are no longer applicable."
This year there are 250 fact sheets in the 947-page handbook, which is available for $95 as a three-ring binder with a CD-ROM disk included or $35 for the CD-ROM alone. To order the Cow-Calf Management Guide contact (Angela Corean) the University of Idaho Department of Animal and Veterinary Sciences at (208) 885-6345 or cowcalf@uidaho.edu.
