06/28/07 The singing farmer

In the highlands near Emmett if you look close enough you'll find an artist in farm clothes. Lisa Jensen often can be found working in her corn fields. JENSEN "We are cleaning out rows behind the corrugators so our water can go down the furrow and we don't erode the soil." And while she's in the field she's always trying out new material, like a song that she'll sing later that night at the Emmett Cherry Festival. JENSEN "Today he's just 18&.." For Jensen the farming and performing go hand in hand with plenty of time in the field to loosen up the vocal cords. JENSEN FAN"I like the songs that she sang; they brought a tear to my eye in some cases." The crowd enjoyed her singing; its obvious Jensen enjoyed performing before many of her friends and neighbors.
