06/27/07 CRP re-enrollment deadline

A lot of Idahoans are a part of CRP and they need to take notice of a USDA reminder. Eligible Conservation Reserve Program enrollees face a September 30th re-enrollment deadline. Eligible, as defined by USDA Undersecretary Floyd Gabler is a producer with a 2007 continuous signup contract that's set to expire at the end of September. GABLER "And involves more than 14 thousand ag producers and 300 thousand acres that are enrolled under these contracts. We're hopeful that farmers will take advantage of that time there and try to get into our FSA office and re-enroll their acres up for another contract." Gabler says he wants to get the word out to producers about the September deadline. GABLER "They are scheduled to expire and that they certainly have an excellent opportunity to re-enroll and we just simply are trying to encourage them to do that before those contracts actually expire." You can always get more information from your local Farm Service Agency office or by going to the Internet at fsa.usda.gov. Voice of Idaho Agriculture Bill Scott
