06/25/07 Uneasy With Wine

Welcome to Vine to Wine, I'm your host Linda Moran and I have a question for you - Why are people so uneasy about wine? Are you one of them? Today we will take a look at why that uneasy feeling is so common. It seems to me that most people are convinced that everyone else knows more about wine than they do. Although, it's probably not the case. Most of us just know what we like and that is it. There is so much wine to choose from. I mean look at the fact that between just two bottles of wine both from the same kind of grape but made by two different producers or in two different parts of the world can result in wines tasting very different even though they are the same grape. I mean obviously there are differing styles and types of wines because we have differing tastes. Wine is very subjective and although people like myself enjoy exploring it beyond just drinking it do not I repeat do not let that lead you to intimidation. There is s a good deal to know and most people know what they like or what they read about and that is great. But the most important thing is rather than feel uneasy just be adventurous. Try many different wines and drink the ones you like as you continue trying others along the way. It's that simple. Because the bottom line is - your mouth is the only mouth tasting your wine and if you think it tastes good then confidently buy it and enjoy it! Remember to send your wine questions to Linda at vine to wine dot net and thanks for joining me on today's Vine to Wine.
