Yesterday I told you about a fishing trip that got interrupted. You know you never know what you're going to catch when you go fishing. I'm Jeff Keane; I'll be right back to tell you what I mean.
Fast Eddy and Seth's peaceful fishing day got redirected when they had to ferry a cowboy across the river to start two runaway cows swimming back to the round-up on the other bank. Yesterday, we left the cowboy stranded on the wrong bank while Eddy and Seth headed out into the river to turn the cows that were again circling away from the desired bank. You know, Eddy is not just a fisherman since he has been around livestock his whole, life riding bareback horses and handling cows and calves. So when the cows would not keep heading for the proper shore, Eddy reverted to the cowboy attitude of "just rope it" and with a boat rope made into a lariat he roped the lead cow as slick as a jackpot team roping header and started halter breaking lessons on the cow. Now, Seth was not as familiar with cows as Eddy and as the cow would get closer to the boat Seth would excitedly voice his concern about the cow jumping in the boat while Eddy would explain she wasn't a fish and needed to get her feet on ground to be able to jump. That's the way they got to shore with Seth yelling don't let her jump and Eddy explaining she wasn't a fish. Just before the cow's feet did touch ground, Seth maneuvered the boat along side the cow, Eddy got the rope off and gave a whole new meaning to catch and release. Oh, the cowboy was rescued, but the other cow would not follow and left forbidden places on freedom's bank. I'm Jeff Keane.
