05/28/07 Doc Bar

Being a failure is often a little hard to choke down, I'm Jeff Keane and I'll return with a horse that was thrown out for his lack of athletic ability. Bred purely for speed a little horse by the name of Doc Bar proved even though he was a complete washout on the track he was a force to be reckoned with, here's Becky with a little more on the grit of an outstanding horse. Out of the speedy mare Dandy Doll and sired by the proven runner and showman Lighting Bar by Three Bars, the charming fourteen three-hand frame of Doc Bar was clearly not built to run. A failure on the track Doc Bar wasn't a performance horse either but his pretty face found him to be a grand halter horse and extraordinary sire. Matching Doc Bars' concealed speed with the proven working blood of Teresa Tivio, this combination would establish the ground floor of a legacy in the Cutting Horse industry. Isn't it true that one mans trash is another mans treasure? Well, this throw away, though not a performing champion himself found his fortune through his four hundred and eighty seven offspring which made Doc Bar the All Time Leading Maternal sire of AQHA and NCHA Cutting horses. In his twenty six years, the horse that won only 95 dollars in four racings starts paved his own road making himself one of the most influential cutting horse sires. You know Becky I wasn't much good on the track myself, but I since have had a lot of fun and excitement in the rodeo arena, I'm Jeff Keane.
