Welcome to Vine to Wine this is your host Linda Moran and as many of you know my new favorite wine is usually the wine in my glass. After all why bother drinking wine if it isn't good?
I do some volunteer work, and last night one of my volunteer groups met. It is a collection of women who do good, and have fun. Did I mention they love wine? Some of them are even involved in the wine business. So there are always tasty new wines to try. Well last night there was a wine, which everyone enjoyed, it was a Washington wine 2003 BSH from Owen Sullivan Winery. They are a couple of Garage type winemakers out of Tukwila Washington. The wine was a blended red of seventy percent Cabernet Sauvignon twenty-five percent Merlot and five percent Cabernet Franc. It was not too overly oaked, by that, I mean you smelled Cabernet when you lifted it to your face rather than vanilla from the oak. It was very easy to drink due to the great balance of fruit and acidity. I think it would have been excellent with just about any type of grilled meat or anything topped with a mushroom sauce. It isn't a wine readily available in retail outlets so I recommend you ask your local wine merchant to order it for you. Or try calling Owen Sullivan Winery directly. Good luck my girlfriends may beat you to it. In the meantime, remember to send your wine questions to Linda at vine to wine dot net and thank you for joining me on today's Vine to Wine.
