Welcome to Vine to Wine this is your host Linda Moran. I heard awhile ago the United States may soon be the most sought after wine market in the world. Lots of wineries want to sell us wine so we better get busy! There are so many wines to taste and so little time. It's no secret that wineries are popping up all over the world and I often wonder, are that many more people really drinking wine? Selfishly, I sure hope so! Today I thought I would make some recommendations of wines that were new to me over the past few months. Of course, most recently I have been tasting some Washington wines which I think are worth keeping your radar up for. A winery from Walla Walla, called Rulo, makes very good Syrah and if you are a white wine drinker, I recommend anything they make. Another Walla Walla Winery, Forgeron, is a house favorite for us. The Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot are delightful and the Chardonnay is full of fruit and not over oaked. From Yakima Valley look out for Bunell Syrah, it is a double yummy. A new winery to keep track of is Jones Family from Quincy Washington. They are growers gone winery owners and they seem pretty serious. From South America look for Malbec From California start enjoying some of those Pinots from the Carneros region. Speaking of Pinot Noir don't miss Domaine Drouhin and Ken Wright from Oregon. I fell in love with both producers for very different reasons. Cheers to all of you wine drinkers out there and keep up the good work!
