Tackling weeds. I'm Greg Martin with today's Line On Agriculture.
As any weekend gardener knows, weeds are inevitable and once established, they can be extremely difficult to manage. Multiply that little backyard garden patch by many, many acres and the job of farmers gets down right tough. Over the years there have been many good products designed to control weeds but as Chuck Foresman, Technical Brand Manager for Syngenta explains, weeds just get stronger.
FORESMAN:
Foresman says that for years glyphosate more commonly known as RoundUp or Touchdown has been used successfully on weeds but more and more weeds are becoming resistant.
FORESMAN:
There is one more important tool that farmers need to utilize.
FORESMAN:
Of course always read and follow the label instructions. Finally, Foresman says that the most expensive herbicide that you use is the one that doesn't work.
