American Rancher January 9, 2007 The 2007 Cattle Industry Annual Convention and Trade Show is set for January 31st through February 3rd in Nashville. National Cattlemen's Beef Association President Mike John says there's simply no event more valuable or educational for cattlemen to attend.
John: "When you look at the size of NCBA's convention and the scope of activities there, you can't go anywhere else in the world and get exposed to as many things that are helpful to the beef industry as what happens at an NCBA convention."
John says those attending will be tuned in to many critical policy debates and beef industry issues.
John: "Preliminary estimates look like we have the largest convention we have ever had. And when you look at all the topics that are covered, the committee participation, seven to eight thousand producers talking about what NCBA policy should be on environmental, tax, trade, marketing, all those issues get discussed. Also with issues of how we are going to promote beef and educate consumers and build demand for our product."
John says even those who can't attend the convention have a voice in policy by virtue of a mail-in ballot. Registration information is available at www.beefusa.org You can also call 866-BEEFUSA for more information.
