$13.5 Million Available for California Nutrition Incentives
There’s $13.5 million expected to be available for California organizations working to get more locally grown fruits and vegetables onto family tables.
The California Department of Food and Agriculture is now accepting proposals for its 2026 California Nutrition Incentive Program. The competitive grants help organizations provide incentives to CalFresh shoppers purchasing fresh California-grown fruits and vegetables.
Those dollars can reach consumers in several different places, including certified farmers markets and mobile farmers markets, Community Supported Agriculture sites, farm stands, and small brick-and-mortar retailers.
Applications are due November 3 at 5 p.m. Pacific through CDFA’s online grant system.
For organizations considering applying, there are also two chances to learn more before the deadline. CDFA will hold a webinar October 13 to walk through the request for proposals, followed by an office hour October 27 for additional questions.
