This week the Common Ground Coalition is building more momentum in the livestock industry at its Midwest Region Meeting in Omaha, Nebraska. Producers and industry leaders gathered to discuss the future of agriculture, food security, and the importance of protecting the next generation of ranchers and farmers.

Nebraska cattle producer Doug Shepperd, one of the founding members from the historic Common Ground Summit in Denver, says the coalition is focused on finding common ground on the biggest issues impacting rural America and the U.S. livestock industry.

Topics included the decline of young people entering agriculture, food security, rural communities, and the need for a stronger unified voice for producers in Washington, D.C.

The coalition’s regional meetings continue later this summer in Nashville, Tennessee, and Fort Worth, Texas.
