From the Ag Information Network, I’m Bob Larson. More news about the documentary we told you about recently, produced by the “farm activist” group We Are ELLA and the nearly half million dollars in funding they received from the state Department of Health.
Save Family Farming Executive Director, Ben Tindall says those funds came in handy for ELLA …
TINDALL … “This organization, We Are ELLA ultimately produced a documentary film that was an odd mixture of anti-farming propaganda and narrative mixed with a call for activism and action in political engagement.”
It’s the funding, Tindall says that is very concerning …
TINDALL … “This funding is ultimately coming not just from tax payers, but it’s coming from the Climate Commitment Act funding the state is pulling in from things like fuel taxes that farmers should be exempt from but have had a very strong difficulty from being exempt.”
That alone, Tindall says should be enough to raise serious questions …
TINDALL … “We have farmers who are unjustly paying a fuel tax to then fund an activist group who’s attacking farmers. So, in essence they are, you know, in a sadistic circle, they are paying for their own attack ads and their own attack videos.”
Tindall says they’ve requested a meeting the Secretary of Health to get some answers.
