A second round of USDA Supplemental Disaster Relief Program payments are being issued starting this week. Speaker 2: This critical program provides targeted assistance to producers to help them recover from losses they suffered from natural disasters in 2023 and 2024. Speaker 1: Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins in Missouri. Prior to this past weekend. Audio courtesy of Brownfield AG Network. Originally, the site of deadline for both stages of the program was set for Thursday. Speaker 2: We are now extending that until August 12th of this year. This extension gives producers and our FSA more time to address any program application changes. Speaker 1: That might impact payments. Also, payment factors, originally set at 35%, now increased to 70%, with approved SDR applicants now receiving an additional 35% and future approved applications utilizing a 70% payment factor. Speaker 2: Today, USDA has already provided $6.7 billion in SDR payments nationwide. Those initial payments were factored at 35%, but we went back and after further analysis, we are now increasing that payment factor to 70%. So this is a significant increase in additional funds for our farmers and ranchers. This means that producers with approved applications will receive an additional 35% of their calculated payments.
