Trump Administration Investing in Domestic Fertilizer Projects

USDA Secretary of Agriculture, Brooke Rollins, says, in an effort to help reduce fertilizer input costs for struggling farmers in the US, monies are being made available from federal resources to help to boost up fertilizer production in the US.

“Fertilizer projects. Investing over $1 billion in the United States, infrastructure may be eligible for assistance from the Department of Commerce's investment accelerator, which is currently overseeing $750 billion available. There will also be funding from the Energy Department, energy

dominance financing program, financing critical materials projects, notably, just provided an over one and a half billion dollar loan for an Indiana ammonia project.

Rollins says that they are also working to streamline fertilizer production facility permitting.

“Streamlining permitting the Trump administration, primarily EPA, Department of Commerce, doi and the US Army Corps of Engineers, are specifically streamlining to put at warp speed permitting for air, water, chemicals, environmental review, safety, and transportation. One example is-soon getting across the finish line to officially permit the CF industry's new world-scale ammonia facility at Blue Point Complex in Louisiana, which is expected to be the largest ammonia plant in the world with a nameplate capacity of 1.4 million metric tons per year>”
