The recent geopolitical challenges have shined a spotlight on how fragile our global fertilizer infrastructure can be. As prices have spiked, it’s natural to look for alternatives. Geraldo Mattioli is the chief commercial officer of Kula Bio. He says their two flagship nitrogen fixation products have been helping specialty crop farmers in states like California and Florida.

Mattioli… “ And a lot of that has to do with the fact that our technology was developed at first to be applied close to the root zone. So in order for those microbes to work and to deliver the nitrogen to the plants, they need to be close to the root zone. So by definition, a good way to do that is fertigation or irrigation of specialty crops, mostly. At scale, we have seen really good success on, all the main crops tomatoes, and the leafy crops and the tree fruits now into the almonds and the pistachios. So if you go to Florida, a lot of the focus has been foresting on leafy green crops as well, and of course tomatoes and and some onions.”

Those products include Kula-Next and Kula-N for organic, and have both dry and liquid formulations.
