Mitigating Fertilizer Price Risk With Technology

Fertilizer prices have spiked over the past several weeks. The only good thing about this, says Kula Bio chief commercial officer Geraldo Mattioli, is that it’s happening at a time that many farmers have most of their needs locked in. But, he says, the prices will be felt by more and more farmers very soon.
Mattioli… “ I hope that the farmers did not get impacted as much as you see on the market news right now, but they will be impacted. You know, they always need to buy some more in season. Availability may not be there. But the fact that the price has raised so much so fast, it did push some farmers to take a look at, uh, alternatives.”
Companies like Kula Bio are offering innovative ways for farmers to offset some of their fertilizer needs, and Mattioli urges farmers to consider them.
Mattioli… “ Biologics are not new to the market, but I think the science has been improving quite a lot. So what a farmer may have seen five years ago, is probably not the same as he would see today with the science that has evolved so far. So I think, you know, be open definitely, support anything that can be done to mitigate this volatility and have one more option for you when you have to decide what to do.”
That’s Geraldo Mattioli of Kula Bio.
