CRP Enrollment

General Conservation Reserve Program acreage enrollment continues, and USDA Farm Production and Conservation Undersecretary Richard Fordyce says unlike past years of CRP signup. Speaker 2: We do have probably a smaller window as far as the number of acres that we can include in that general signup. Speaker 1: As statutory acres enrolled in CRP are approaching its cap number. Speaker 2: You've got a little over a million acres to play with. Speaker 1: Within the 27 million acre statutory cap. The latest general CRP enrollment period continues through April 17th, with enrollment conducted through local Farm Service Agency offices. Meanwhile, the deadline is approaching for the first batching period of applications under the Continuous Conservation Reserve Program March 20th. Continuous CRP applications submitted after that date will be considered in subsequent batching periods, depending on acreage availability.
