**Beef production in major exporting and consuming regions is projected to decline in 2025, with global output likely to remain under pressure heading into 2026.
That’s according to a report from Rabobank that indicates the largest volume reductions are expected in the U.S., which has faced shrinking herds and lower slaughter rates.
That trend helps explain why other producers, like Australia, are expanding feedlot capacity to capitalize on weakened U.S. output.
**The USDA is making $12 billion available in one-time bridge payments to American farmers in response to trade market disruptions and increased production costs impacting farmers.
Bridge payments will aid farmers until investments from the One Big Beautiful Bill reach eligible farmers on October 1st of next year.
Up to $11 billion will be used for the Farmer Bridge Assistance Program, which provides broad relief to row crop farmers.
