In recent years, a number of viable precision spray technologies have hit the agricultural market, with several of them targeting vegetable crops. How does a farmer interested in this technology differentiate the offering of one company compared to the others? For Ecorobotix, CEO Dominique Mégret says farmer customer choose them because of their superior precision.

Mégret… “ Well, it's all about precision and for Swiss people, precision is not enough. It's ultra high precision, and that's where we are positioned. So we've designed the machine to have the very best framework to have, for example, no drift, and to have no light constraints under a cap you can get the best precision. It's easy to get to 80% weed recognition. But if you want to get to the 95% I was talking about to make very demanding customers happy, then you have to invest much more resources for the last 10 to 15%. So that's why we've ramped up the organization to 250 engineers. So we're really putting a lot of effort on the R & D side to improve the quality.”

Ecorobotix has certified that their ultra-high precision sprayer reduces drift by up to 95%, as shown in recent studies in Germany and the Netherlands.
