Sign up for stage two of the US Department of Agriculture's C as well as other disaster programs, begin today for eligible producers. USDA Deputy Secretary Steven Vaden,

“Stage two will cover crop, tree, Bush, Vine, and quality losses that were not covered under the earlier announced stage one. The purpose of stage two is to cover shallow losses, which include non-indemnified losses, uncovered losses, and quality losses. Between the two stages, USDA will deliver, in total, more than $16 billion.”

In addition to that program, Under Secretary for Farm Production and Conservation, Richard Fordyce, discusses aspects of the milk loss program and on farm stored commodity loss program.

“We are rolling out the milk loss and on farm stored commodity loss program. The milk Loss Program provides relief to producers who were forced to dump milk or remove it from the commercial market due to adverse weather while the on farm stored commodity loss program covers losses of eligible harvested commodities in storage.”

Once again, sign up for all three programs begins today. For more information, see your local Farm Service Agency office or log on to fsa.usda.gov.
