US Wheat Associates has released its latest crop quality report highlighting how this year's crop measures up in key export markets. Director of Communications, Ralph Loose breaks down the findings

“And US wheat production was up significantly in the highest production we've had since 2016 which is really something to note. Now, we do know we've had a couple of bad years with drought and everything like that, so that that kind of helps that number. But for our customers around the world, who consider us the most reliable supplier of wheat, it's definitely a bright spot. You know, one of the biggest gains we saw was in hard red winter wheat, which has grown in a plain state's production this past year was almost 22 million metric tons.”

The total is nearly a million tons higher than 2024. And 6 million tons above 2023. When drought cut production sharply. Luce adds that teams are now traveling globally to share the report's findings with buyers.

“So basically, we take all this information, we take the crop quality report. This year we're visiting 35 different countries. We have seven teams made up of farmers, millers, bakers, and in those 35 countries, those seminars will kind of give a more detailed explanation about this year's crop.”
