California Invests $80 Million to Boost Jobs and Key Industries
Governor Gavin Newsom and the California Jobs First Council have announced $80 million in funding for eleven projects across seven regions and eighteen counties. The funding is designed to create more family-supporting jobs and strengthen key industries. For agriculture, about $28.6 million is going to agtech and farm equipment projects. These investments will support workforce development, ecosystem growth, and infrastructure in regions including the North State, the Redwood Coast, the San Joaquin Valley, and the Southern Border.
Other sectors are receiving funding as well: nearly $17 million for aerospace and defense on the Central Coast, almost $24 million for life sciences in Los Angeles County, and $10 million for the bioeconomy in the North San Joaquin Valley. In total, the projects are expected to support more than 23,000 jobs statewide.
As Governor Newsom said, “We’re putting real dollars to work right now in communities across California.” A second round of funding is set for October 2025. Curious about the specifics? We were, too. Get full award details at https://tinyurl.com/4ru6bwbb
