**The Purdue University/CME Group Ag Economy Barometer declined in July as farmer sentiment continued to weaken.
The barometer fell 11 points from June to 135, a reading that came from U.S. farmers’ weaker perceptions of both current conditions, down 17 points, and future expectations, down seven points.
Despite lower scores on the principal farmer indexes, sentiment still remains notably higher than at the same time a year ago.
**The USDA announced loan interest rates for August 2025, which are now in effect.
USDA Farm Service Agency loans provide important access to capital to help ag producers start or expand their farming operation, purchase equipment or meet cash flow needs.
FSA offers farm ownership, operating and emergency loans with favorable interest rates and terms to help eligible producers obtain needed financing.
FSA also offers guaranteed loans through commercial lenders.
