**Georgia dairy farmers have overwhelmingly approved two statewide referendums to continue and expand funding for dairy education, marketing, and research.

The Georgia Agricultural Commodity Commission for Milk certified the results at its June meeting.

These votes allow dairy producers to continue the 10 cents/cwt assessment for GA ACCM programs and introduce a new assessment up to 2.5 cents/cwt to support initiatives led by Georgia Milk Producers, Inc. Dairy farmers pay both assessments.

**Republicans cleared their agriculture megabill hurdle and are now looking to pass a smaller farm bill with important priorities that haven’t been updated since 2018.

Politico says $67 billion in farm bill spending was included in the reconciliation bill.

But there are still farm programs and priorities that need funding, extension, or updating.

House Ag Chair GT Thompson looked ahead to a “skinny” farm bill, with a predicted cost of less than $8 billion.

**The National Cattlemen’s Beef Association applauded Ag Secretary Brooke Rollins’ Farm Security is National Security action plan.

The USDA is releasing a number of farm security and national security policies supported by NCBA and America’s cattle farmers and ranchers.
