Florida's Laura Goss Graduates from National Ag Boot Camp
Florida’s own Laura Goss was among fifteen women in agriculture who recently completed the American Farm Bureau Federation’s Women’s Communications Boot Camp, an intensive four-day training held this spring. The program focused on sharpening communication skills through hands-on work in public speaking, media engagement, and messaging strategy.Goss, who represents the Sunshine State, joins a network of more than 300 Boot Camp graduates committed to sharing the story of modern agriculture. The training equips participants to take on leadership roles in their communities and beyond—whether that means speaking with elected officials, engaging with local media, or leading conversations on social media.
Hosted by the AFB Women’s Leadership Committee, this nationally recognized program is designed to help women in agriculture grow their confidence and communication abilities. With applications opening in June for the next session, more women from the Southeast will soon have the chance to take part in this unique leadership experience.
Goss’s participation highlights the vital role Southern women are playing in advocating for agriculture and building stronger connections between farmers, consumers, and policymakers.
