Monica Carroll, an Alabama farmer with decades of experience, has been appointed as the new executive director of the state’s Farm Service Agency (FSA), according to a news release from the Alabama Farmers Federation. She started in the role on May 5, bringing a deep understanding of farming life and a passion for serving her community. According to the Federation, Carroll plans to focus on getting vital programs to farmers quickly, particularly those related to conservation, disaster relief, and risk management.

Carroll and her husband, Chris, operate 4C Land & Cattle Co. in Dale County, where they raise cattle, poultry, and grow crops. Their family is fully involved in the farm, and Carroll's firsthand knowledge of agriculture will be a significant asset as she leads FSA during a challenging time for Alabama farmers.

With the state facing a severe economic crisis, Carroll's leadership is welcomed by Alabama Farmers Federation President Jimmy Parnell, who stresses the importance of having a farmer in charge. According to the Federation, Carroll’s experience, leadership, and commitment to agriculture make her an ideal fit to help Alabama farmers navigate the tough times ahead and continue improving their land and livelihoods.
