Your Voice, Their Research: Help Shape the Future of Ranching

Ranchers, keep an eye on your mailboxes! The California Cattlemen’s Association is encouraging members to complete an important survey that will help guide future university-led research and education efforts.

The survey is part of a senior project by Cal Poly Animal Science student Claire Saydah, supervised by Dr. Rachael Lyons. It’s supported by the California Beef Cattle Improvement Association and a team of experts from Cal Poly, UC Davis, Chico State, and UC Cooperative Extension.

Your responses will help researchers understand how ranchers make herd health and management decisions. That information is critical for shaping future research, Extension workshops, and classroom curriculum. All responses are anonymous, and results will be shared in California Cattleman Magazine and with Extension advisors.

“The more we understand current challenges, the better we can serve the ranching community,” says Dr. Gaby Maier from UC Davis.
