“We know that we have strong support from Republicans and Democrats in Congress. We know that leadership in this new Congress is working with us to try to get it done, particularly the Senate Majority Leader, and we know that there are a handful right of must pass bills that Congress will consider, and so there's a select few opportunities I we prefer to get this done before the summer driving season.”
Jennings says that although they are grateful for emergency waivers, they prefer legislation to be enacted.
“There's a growing supply demand imbalance in the ethanol industry. Our production eclipses are used by about 2 billion gallons right now, the highest sort of surplus that we've had in some time was in 2024 and it's projected to be significantly high in this calendar year as well, and E 15 is the quickest and the fastest way to fix that problem, because we know the infrastructure is compatible. We know a lot of work has been done on that front. We know this is a fuel that's safe for vehicles. There aren't any issues in terms of compatibility there.”
Furthermore, Jennings says it would be a game changer for corn growers in the ag industry, as producing more and using more ethanol at home, means less import and export issues, which means less issues when it comes to tariffs.
