Tschirky NPC President Pt 1
From the Ag Information Network, I’m Bob Larson. The National Potato Council installed its 2025 Executive Committee leaders recently at their annual Washington Summit.
Connell farmer, Ted Tschirky was elected as the Council’s president who says their job is to maintain relationships with lawmakers and keep them up to date with latest challenges …
TSCHIRKY … “We try to keep them informed of what these different issues, how it will affect us as growers across the nation. And that’s what makes, I think, the National Potato Council relevant.”
And, Tschirky says with so many issues currently on the table …
TSCHIRKY … “A couple of weeks ago when we were up there in D.C. at ‘the Summit’ we all made the rounds from all the states to keep our issues at their forefront of what’s going on.”
Something Tschirky says he’s been doing on the state and federal level for quite a while …
TSCHIRKY … “Yeah, it’s been, I think, since 2004 when I first started on ‘the Commission’ and then that led me into a roll on the board at NPC, and eventually being on the executive committee after that. So, it’s been a long tenure I guess, going through different state issues and federal issues now.”
