Save Family Farming's Urban Advisory Team Pt 1
From the Ag Information Network, I’m Bob Larson. Save Family Farming is about informing and educating the public about what’s really happening in agriculture.Executive Director, Ben Tindall says their Urban Advisory Team helps them decide what’s important and who should hear it …
TINDALL … “One of, but really kind of our key target audience that Save Family Farming wants to communicate with is the non-farming, urban-slash-suburban voter.”
Tindall says those are the individuals they really want to target and help communicate agriculture’s message …
TINDALL … “We have a lot of great groups that are communicating directly to legislators or lawmakers and trying to influence the policy makers. And those are all necessary and very important.”
Tindall says it’s the urban/suburban non-farming voters they want to reach …
TINDALL … “Those are the ones that are very influential. They’re the ones that are sending lawmakers and politicians to Olympia. They’re the ones that are really influencing their decisions. And so how do we change and how do we effect their public opinion when it comes to agriculture.”
The delivery, Tindall says is key …
TINDALL … “With that, if we say we really want to communicate well to this particular demographic, well how does that particular demographic want to be communicated to? How is it that they want to receive their information?”
