Meat Institute's Message for Trump and AFBF Annual Convention
From the Ag Information Network, this is your Agribusiness Update.**The Meat Institute sent a letter to President Trump to provide strategies to reduce burdensome regulations and address meat prices for consumers.
The letter included a list of recommended actions, including rescinding the final rule under the Packers and Stockyards Act put in place last March.
The Institute says despite a lack of legal authority and court precedent, the rule attempts to enshrine diversity, equity, and inclusion concepts into the Packers and Stockyards Act.
**Farmer and rancher delegates to the American Farm Bureau’s annual convention adopted policies to guide the organization’s work in 2025.
AFBF President Zippy Duvall says policy priorities include everything from passing a new farm bill, enacting regulatory reform, and creating new markets for the folks dedicated to keeping America’s pantries stocked.
Delegates also adopted policy supporting the development and sale of domestically sourced sustainable aviation fuel, and alternative energy production.
