Farmers Helping Farmers in Georgia
The Weathered But Strong: Georgia Hurricane Relief Fund is now accepting applications to provide financial assistance to farmers impacted by Hurricane Helene.Georgia Agriculture Commissioner Tyler Harper shared, “Georgians helping their fellow Georgians has been inspiring. I urge eligible farmers to apply and take advantage of this support so we can build back stronger.”
Tom McCall, President of the Georgia Farm Bureau, emphasized, “We’re committed to helping farmers rebuild after Hurricane Helene. Every penny raised will go directly to farmers devastated by this storm.”
This relief fund was established by the Georgia Department of Agriculture in partnership with the Georgia Foundation for Agriculture. More than 40 agricultural partners have joined the effort, raising over $1 million so far toward the goal of $1.5 million by December 31. Donations will continue to be accepted through the end of the year.
